Tank Museum Buys War Horse Tank

The Tank Museum in Bovington has bought the replica Mark IV tank from the new War Horse movie to show off what a moving Great War tank looked like. Interesting little feature off Meridian Tonight on it can be seen here.

  1. I was about to scoff at this - why would a place that has the real thing want a 'mere prop' - but having watched the report you linked to - I have to say, the makers did an excellent job - it really looks the part!

  2. Hi Steve,

Didn't Bovi have the 'Tiger' used in Saving Private Ryan as well?

They have done a good job on the beast and no mistake!

    All the best,

  3. Good news, at least it's staying in the country. Can't wait to see the film, even the Mrs wants to see it!

  4. Why did they not make a replica A7V rather than a English Mark IV?
